#verselove - 11 In a Days

For the month of April, I am participating in 30 days of #verselove poetry writing with Dr. Sarah J. Donovan's Ethical ELA

Today's poetry inspiration was by Scott McCloskey, who invites us to write a "Day Poem" by choosing a special day of the calendar or imagining a special tribute for a particular day and write from there. I fudged the inspiration a bit, thinking about the word 'day' and all the different expressions we use for it, how much 'day' drives all our planning - all the live long day! (I didn't include that, ha) Here's a light little poem for today -

Let’s call it a Day Poem

or

In a Days

Rise and shine!
this is a red letter day
a day to write poetry
all day, day to day
day in, day out
one day, one a day
break of day, night and day,
latter day, back in the day
you name the day, any time of day
no time like the present
24 little hours
carpe diem, seize the day!
poetry will carry the day
'every morning,
every evening
ain’t we got fun?'
Have a nice day!
