Soft Grey Light

I am participating in the
 Slice of Life.
All participants are writing about one moment, one part of their day,
on Tuesdays.

                                                        Thank you, Two Writing Teachers!

Soft Grey Light

I’ve noticed

waking

just before sunrise

a soft grey light

briefly beckons.

A soft grey light

holds

remnants of the night, and

whispers of the day

to come.

A soft grey light

just before sunrise

doesn’t divulge

sunshine, clouds, or rain,

hot day or cool day.

One can’t possibly know

the day that awaits.

These days are

a soft grey

in-between

veiled

not yet revealed

understanding.

One doesn’t know

what comes next.

One doesn’t know

what we will do

with the day ahead.
